What is Aromatase?
Males do not have organs that manufacture estrogen and thus derive estrogen by producing testosterone, which can then be converted into estrogen if needed, by an enzyme called aromatase. In order to achieve homeostasis, the body regulates a balance between levels of testosterone and estrogen. Should anything upset this balance, the body tries its best to correct the problem; if estrogen levels are lowered, such is the case when using an aromatase inhibitor (AI), your body optimizes testosterone output and aromatase production in order to re-establish normal estrogen levels.
