The Goal

Top of the line Whey Protein Isolate
The chief protein in GF-Pro is Instantized Whey Protein Isolate (WPI). This whey protein isolate is produced by a proprietary microfiltration process that isolates the native whey proteins in a highly concentrated form.
Microfiltered whey protein isolate is the most pure form of whey protein available. It is very low in lactose and fat and mixes almost instantly due to the fact that the processing does not result in significant protein denaturing.
GF-Pro, like other whey protein products, is considered a “fast” protein. This means that it absorbs quickly from the gut resulting in temporarily high levels of amino acids in the bloodstream soon after consumption. Because of this fast absorption, the best times to consume GF pro are before or after training, and first thing in the morning.
Growth factor / Immunoglobulin enriched
GF-Pro also contains a special protein obtained directly from bovine serum. This protein consists of the same immunoglobulins ((IgG, IgM, and IgA) and growth factors (IGF-1 and TGFb-1) that are contained in colostrum. This purified bovine serum (PBS) however is not only more concentrated than colostrum but it is more consistent in composition as well.
Immunoglobulins are a very specialized type of protein used to help protect an animal from disease. Stress, poor nutrition, dieting, travel, disease, medical therapies, strenuous athletic training, and genetic disorders can all contribute to a weakened immune system. The immunoglobulins found in PBS (over 3 times as much as found in colostrum) help boost the immune system to allow people to better fight off disease.
Additionally, the growth factors in PBS help support a healthy, functional digestive system. This leads to improvements in protein assimilation / utilization, and ultimately lean tissue mass. Insulin like growth factor-1 IGF-1 is one such growth factor. PBS contains up to twice as much IGF-1 per gram as Colostrum does.
